The reason there is a password is that you do not want the public to start taking care of birds without any education. Not because I want to force everyone to stick to the law, but if you are inexperienced, you can do more bad than good and I do not want to be a part of that.
Please, do not wait and contact a bird rescue who can help you with advice and possibly take care of the bird.
